Focus on wellbeing

As with all areas of care, someone’s overall wellbeing is unique to them which is why we offer choice and variety for our residents.

We encourage involvement

Our team are always here to encourage involvement, but sometimes what someone needs is one to one time to talk, or even alone time which is why we adapt and change to the needs of our service users. We bring in entertainment for those who want to get involved and respect the needs of those who don’t.

Always supported

We aim to offer a range of activities for residents to choose from to get involved with to support their overall wellbeing. From take-away evenings, to bringing in singers, accompanied outings to the local shops and barbeques in the garden in summer.

The atmosphere is always welcoming but ultimately residents can choose what they want to get involved with, encouraged, and supported by our care team.

Meals & Nutrition

Meals and nutrition play a crucial role in everybody’s wellbeing.

Our in-home chefs ensure everybody receives the choices they need focussing on well-balanced options. With our core focus on independence, we encourage residents to choose their own food but are always here to offer a helping hand and ensure anyone that cannot/chooses not to eat receives the additional support they need. Food and nutrition are logged to ensure everyone is receiving the sustenance they need.

Meals offer a great chance for socialising, we use our dining rooms and Friday night take-away themed nights, cultural variations like Jamaican cuisine to ensure mealtimes become a time for getting together and adding to the overall homely feel of Barton House Care Home.
