Good mental health is crucial for overall well-being. At Barton House, we prioritise our residents’ mental health and offer a person-centred approach, providing 24-hour nursing care for adults living with complex mental health conditions. We ensure our residents live in a positive and fulfilling environment through meaningful activities and social connections.
At Barton House, we focus on putting the person first and celebrating each resident’s individuality. We invest time in getting to know their passions, values, and life stories to understand how best we can support them to fulfil their own personal goals.
As well as looking after our residents, we invest time and resources to ensure our staff members are well looked after. Our open-door policy encourages staff to talk about any concerns they have and reach out when they need support. We plan Continuing Professional Development courses and team-building events, offering support where we see a need.
We offer a diverse range of group and one-to-one activity sessions that are tailored to suit everyone’s interests and abilities. With scheduled activities, residents feel a sense of purpose and productivity.
Barton House Manager Rachel says, “Our activities enhance our resident’s mental well-being, with a wide array of activities tailored for residents’ social, physical, and mental needs. From group events like barbeques, to jigsaws and outings, we ensure that every experience adds meaning to their lives.”
Families and friends are welcome to come along to share in our activities. We encourage residents to stay connected with their loved ones, maintaining their relationships and even building new ones with other residents and team members to help prevent social isolation.
