Angela has worked in care for over 10 years and is the lady behind the hearty, nutritious home cooking enjoyed by all at Barton House.
Freshly home-cooked, well-balanced meals, choice, variety and nutrition play a huge part in someone’s overall wellbeing. We encourage as much independence as possible whilst offering a helping hand where needed and encouraging good quality food.
Angela loves to cook nice, healthy food, the delicious smell of her kitchen fills the dining area and always receives lots of high praise. We also love to put on a special spread, whether it’s for someone’s birthday, a themed food evening or a special occasion. Mealtimes encourage social interaction as well as sustenance for overall health.
At Barton House, because mealtimes and nutrition are such an important part of someone’s care we do have a protected mealtimes policy where we prefer visitors not to attend during these times to ensure our residents are supported when necessary and we can have a relaxing calm environment for those that need it – but of course if you have to visit during meal times we’d never turn you away!
Angela loves working in care and is passionate about being a part of helping the residents to thrive, when asked to sum up working in care in three words she said, “living, laughing and caring” which we think sums up beautifully the positive friendly atmosphere of the home which comes across in every member of the team.
Home Manager at Barton House Care Home says, “the importance of good, quality home cooking cannot be expressed highly enough, for our residents this is their home, and what helps someone feel at home more than a freshly cooked hot dinner. That’s not forgetting everything in between mealtimes, cups of tea, snacks and other refreshments available for our residents when they need them – just like they would at home.”
